Virginia Tech and the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC, in a partnership with Children's National Hospital, occupy 12,000 square feet of space on the hospital's research and innovation campus in Washington, D.C. The campus is located on the former Walter Reed Army Medical Center in the northwest section of the city.

Visiting the Campus

By train: Amtrak rail service is available daily between Roanoke and Union Station in Washington, D.C. From Union Station, take the Red Line Metro toward Glenmont to the Takoma station. The campus is a 20-minute walk or a 5-minute ride-share trip from the station.

By air: From Reagan National Airport, take the Yellow Line Metro to Gallery Place, and the Red Line to Takoma Station. The campus is a 20-minute walk or a 5-minute ride-share trip from the station.

Parking: If you drive, parking is available on campus in an LED-lit, 975-space garage.

Where to Stay

Health Sciences and Technology maintains a pair of furnished, two bedroom apartments near the research and innovation campus. The apartments, at The Vale, located at 6800 Georgia Ave N.W., are available on a first come, first served basis to students, faculty, and staff staying at least a week while engaged in university business. First priority is given to graduate students.
