Mark Orloff joined the Chiu Lab in 2016 after completing his B.S. in psychology at Virginia Tech. He is interested in the role of social influence in risky decision-making. He is interested in the role of social influence in risky decision-making. His current project, working with Dr. Pearl Chiu, involves combining computational modeling techniques with real-time functional magnetic resonance imaging neurofeedback. Through these methods he hopes his research with Dr. Chiu facilitates behavior change in risky decisions or susceptibility to social influence via real-time neuromodulation of individuals’ brain states. His work with the Chiu Lab seeks to develop novel computational modeling and neuroimaging methods to inform interventions by improving decision-making deficits underlying disease.
