New Faculty Positions at Fralin Biomedical Research Institute

There are currently seven open tenure track faculty positions available at the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC.

Virginia Tech (VT) seeks to recruit a health behaviors researcher whose work focuses on the initial prevention of cancer and/or its relapse for a tenure track faculty position. The successful candidate will utilize contemporary approaches including behavioral analysis, behavioral economics, neuroscience, neuroeconomics, genetics, computation and/or imaging to study important issues of decision-making and/or interventions to modify behaviors that may contribute to the initial development of cancer and/or its relapse. The study of interventions that address the contributions of diet, exercise, alcohol consumption, smoking, and/or exposure to other oncogenic activities such as tanning or vaping are of particular interest.

Virginia Tech (VT) seeks to recruit an innovative researcher in the area of biomaterials or body-device interfaces in cancer research for a tenure track faculty position. As the successful candidate, you will have expertise in either the development and application of materials compatible with living systems to treat disorders in humans and/or animals and/or the development of interfaces and systems including sensors for monitoring and analyzing health data remotely. 

Virginia Tech (VT) and Children’s National Hospital (CNH) are recruiting in partnership to fill a tenure track faculty position in the area of research on the mechanisms and applications of focused ultrasound for therapeutic approaches to treat brain cancer, particularly in pediatric populations. Candidates with a focus in biological and/or engineering approaches to the study of how focused ultrasound can be used to treat brain cancers and/or modify the blood brain barrier for the delivery of therapeutics are encouraged to apply. 

Virginia Tech (VT) is recruiting to fill a tenured faculty leadership position in cancer research in partnership with the Children’s National Hospital (CNH). This new position represents part of a major collaborative research initiative between VT and CNH. The position will be located in Virginia Tech’s new state of the art research facilities at the new Children’s National Research and Innovation Campus in Washington, D.C. The faculty member will be part of the university’s Fralin Biomedical Research Institute.

Virginia Tech (VT) seeks to recruit a developmental neuroscientist for a tenure track faculty position. The successful candidate should utilize contemporary approaches including genetics, molecular/cellular biology, modeling/computation, electrophysiology, informatics, imaging and/or behavioral analysis to study important issues of brain and behavioral development in animal models and/or in humans.

Virginia Tech (VT) seeks to recruit an innovative researcher in the area of exercise medicine with a focus on the impact of exercise/physical activity on health, including but not limited to the metabolic, cardiovascular, skeletomuscular and neurocognitive systems as well as immunity and cancer prevention for a tenure track faculty position.
