About the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine

The VTC School of Medicine incorporates a research value domain throughout all four years of the school's curriculum with the goal of developing physician scientists. Each student conducts original, hypothesis-driven research for three-and-a-half years of medical school, and many medical students conduct their research projects alongside our faculty, research staff, and graduate students at the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute.
