Phil J. Duke
Phil Duke is a managing director of risk advisory services for KPMG LLP — a global network of professional firms providing audit, tax, and advisory services. He is responsible for developing the advisory services practice for aerospace and defense firms. KPMG is one of the Big Four accounting firms, along with Deloitte, E&Y, and Pricewaterhouse Coopers.
Phil has almost 50 years of combined consulting and industry experience. Prior to joining KPMG, he served as a consultant for the high-tech and aerospace and defense industries with Accenture.
Previously, he worked for Lockheed Martin, and predecessor companies, for 38 years before retiring as corporate executive vice president. Most of those years were spent in the financial and program management functions, concluding as the corporate CFO. At that time, Lockheed Martin had an annual revenue of $25 billion and 130,000 employees and was the largest defense contractor in the U.S. Before Lockheed Martin, he was CFO of the Space Group at Ford Aerospace — now Space Systems/Loral.
He has served on the board of directors of the Oak Ridge National Lab, the Sandia National Lab, Focus Point Communications, Exostar B2B Exchange, Space Imaging and Information, Lockheed Martin Finance Corp., Lockheed Martin Investment Management Corp., the Orlando Regional Medical Center, the Rollins (FL) College School of Business, five private equity companies, and two terms on the Virginia Resources Authority and Bond Bank — Governors Tim Kaine and Mark Warner's appointee.
He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon, and his M.B.A in finance from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
