American Heart Association and Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship
Thank You to the American Heart Association
The cardioSURF team is grateful to be funded by an American Heart Association Award for Undergraduate Student Training. AHA seeks to encourage students from all disciplines to consider research careers. The award enables research institutions like the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC to offer meaningful research experiences to undergraduate college students by supporting not only stipends and other support for the summer program, but also funds travel by students to a conference to showcase their research projects.
Founded in 1924, the Dallas-based AHA has invested $5 billion in research funding to combat heart disease and stroke. The many AHA-funded discoveries include the first implantable pacemakers, the first artificial heart valve, CPR techniques and cholesterol-lowering medications.
