At Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC, we advance science as a community, and our donors join us in supporting the work!

Join us from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, in the Riverside 4 atrium for a celebration of giving, including food, games and fun. You are invited to participate in Giving Day alongside our many donors and show your pride in what we do. Help us reach our goal of being the Virginia Tech unit with the highest participation rate from our own faculty, staff and students.

By participating you will receive a T-shirt and gain access to our Giving Day Game Room! The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team helped plan and host this celebration. If at least 25 people make a gift, it will unlock $7,000 in funding for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programming in the coming year.

We will also gather messages of gratitude to share with external donors. Together we make a lasting impact that advances innovation and science!

Rules of the game

Gifts that count toward our FBRI giving day leaderboard can be made starting at noon, EST, on Feb. 15, through noon, EST, on Feb. 16, at this link. Advancement team and DEI committee members will be available during the celebration in Riverside 4 to help you make your contribution.

Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC faculty, staff and students receive a T-shirt by donating any amount — even as little as $5! Suggested minimum donations are $5 for students, $10 for staff, and $40 for faculty for the T-shirt and game-room entry.

Since the goal is participation, we want faculty, staff and students to be individually motivated.  We want you to wear your shirt proudly. But you can give your T-shirt to someone else. You can give more than once — on behalf of your partner, child, dog or lizard. (Looking at you, Matt Weston.)

T-shirts will be handed out during the celebration in Riverside 4. If you are unable to make it, or you are at Children’s National Research and Innovation campus in Washington, D.C., or working offsite, we will make arrangements for you to pick it up or have it mailed. Please email Logan Quesenbery at loganrq@vt.edu to make arrangements.

Philanthropy is one of the drivers behind our science at the institute. New ideas require early-stage findings, and often those projects aren’t covered by other grants. You can make a gift to any part of the mission of Fralin Biomedical Research Institute, or you can support the Seale Innovation Fund awards in particular, to drive innovation.

In addition, your gift will help unlock up to $7,000 for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives within FBRI. We need your support today to fuel innovation and support leading-edge research and advance health through science.
