William Adams earned a B.S. in Physics from  the College of William & Mary and an M.S. in Physiology and Biophysics from Virginia Commonwealth University - Medical College of Virginia. His masters reserach focused on ischemia reperfusion injury and ex vivo preservation of the intact heart for transplant. His current research, working with Dr. Steven Poelzing, is in cardiac electrophysiology, exploring the questions of source sink mismatch, and how that is effected by gap junction uncoupling.
