Gabriela Mendes, Ph.D.

Gabriela was born and raised in Brazil and received her bachelor's degree in biomedical sciences in 2013 and master of science degree in cell biology in 2015 from Federal University of Uberlandia. She then received a scholarship from the Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) in 2015 and moved to the United States to pursue her doctrate. She attended the genetics program at Texas A&M University where her research focused on protein-based materials and neovascularization. She joined the Munson Lab as a postdoctoral researcher in July 2021. Her research focuses on the impact of interstitial fluid flow on CAR T-cell therapy for glioblastoma.
