Archived Seminar: Forward: Why We Cannot Go Back to Where We Were
Date: Feb. 15, 2021
Time: 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
About This Seminar
During these current times, COVID-19 has posed unprecedented barriers to us on many different levels and it has also shed light on many disparities that were largely overshadowed within the academy. While the movement to address racial inequities continues to shed light on these disparities, there is still a long way to go. In this talk, Dr. Monét Roberts will provide insight and commentary on this moment in history from her perspective as a Black scientist. She will speak on why the academy cannot afford to stay complacent nor allow the reversion of advances that have been made thus far. With the hopes of empowering others within our community, Dr. Roberts will discuss how we can promote conversations and champion equity and inclusion within and beyond the institute.
