About the event
Teams of Virginia Tech graduate students will pitch biomedical commercialization ideas to a “Shark Tank”-style panel of judges at 3 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 2, during the Health Sciences and Technology (HS&T) Hokie Pitch. A reception follows with winners announced a short time later.
The competition will involve graduate students who have worked with real-world mentors, selected intellectual property, and created an entrepreneurial plan to develop and commercialize biomedical discoveries. Viewers can watch the live webcast of the teams making their pitches beginning at 3 p.m. Thursday.
The competition involves five teams of Virginia Tech students in the Translational Biology, Medicine, and Health (TBMH) graduate program. The students will compete for cash prizes. The competition is sponsored by the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute and the Woods Rogers Vandeventer Black law firm.
