Chronic Pain Study

     

     

The Legon Lab at Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at Virginia Tech Carilion is recruiting volunteers for a  brain research study to investigate the effects of low-intensity focused ultrasound (LIFU), a non-invasive brain stimulation method, on pain management. If eligible, participants will take part in a 10 week, multi-session study involving a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan, a computed tomography (CT) scan, low-intensity focused ultrasound (LIFU), testing consisting of heating sensations on the skin, and questionnaires.

Eligibility

  • Adults aged 18-65 with chronic pain
  • Availability to participate in Roanoke for a multi-session study lasting 10 weeks
  • Meets all MRI and CT safety qualifications

Compensation

  • Between $310-430 , depending on study participation
