PTSD Study
The Legon Lab at Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC is recruiting veterans and first responders with PTSD for a clinical research trial. If eligible, participants will take part in 6 week research study involving 24 study visits. Visits will include magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans, optically pumped magnetometry (OPM) scans, electroencephalography (EEG), behavioral tasks, questionnaires, sleep studies, and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) stimulation.
Eligibility
- Veterans and First Responders with PTSD aged 18-65
- Availability to participate in Roanoke for a multi-session study
- Meets all MRI, OPM, and TMS safety qualifications
Primary goal
To investigate the effects of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), a non-invasive brain stimulation method, on symptoms of PTSD.
Compensation
Approximately $955 for total study, plus up to an additional $1000 based on task performance.
