Aboozar Monavarfeshani, a graduate student in the Department of Biological Sciences in Virginia Tech’s College of Science, was recently named a recipient of the 2016 Young Investigator Educational Enhancement Travel Award.

The award is given by the American Society for Neurochemistry, and provides funding for students and postdoctoral scientists to attend the society’s annual meeting. This year’s meeting will take place in Denver, Colorado, from March 19 through March 23.

Monavarfeshani works in the laboratory of Michael Fox, an associate professor at the Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute.
