Read Montague, director of the Computational Psychiatry Unit at the Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute, was named a member of the MacArthur Foundation Research Network on Law and Neuroscience at Vanderbilt University.

Established using a grant from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the network is composed of leading neuroscientists, psychologists, philosophers, and lawyers. It examines the effects of modern neuroscience on criminal law and tries to make neuroscience accessible and beneficial to the legal system, specifically in the areas of mental states, capacity, and evidence.
