Sharon and Craig Ramey, both professors and distinguished research scholars at the Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute, delivered the keynote address at the 2014 Parents as Teachers conference on October 30.

Attended by 1,100 people, this year marked the 30th anniversary of the conference. Parents as Teachers is an organization that provides support and information to the organizations and professionals who work with parents with young children, before they enter kindergarten.

Craig Ramey focuses his research on developmental psychology, concentrating on how early childhood education benefits individuals in the long term. Sharon Ramey also studies developmental psychology, with special attention to treatments for children with disabilities.
