Warren Bickel will participate in a symposium at Stanford University on December 1. Hosted by the Neurochoice Initiative, the symposium is titled, “Decisions about drugs: From neuroscience to policy.”

The goal of the symposium is to bring together a broad range of scholars interested in addiction with policy makers to foster meaningful discussions on how neuroscience can inform drug policy and vice versa. Bickel will give a talk on his research on human reward circuits implicated in addiction, as well as take part in a panel discussion on, “How neuroscience can inform policy.”

Bickel, a professor at the Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute, also directs the institute’s Addiction Recovery Research Center.
