About this Seminar
In her return to the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC, Dr. Kerr will discuss her path to becoming a health science policy analyst at the National Eye Institute, part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). She is an alumnus of the Translational Biology, Medicine, and Health graduate program, the research institute’s Center for Neurobiology Research, and the Fox Lab. Her talk will include insights into the structure of NIH, Congressional appropriations, program planning, and how to get your foot in the door to a scientific career in the Federal Government.
